Primary school: WIDA test
The full name of WIDA is World-class Instructional Design and Assessment. It is a world-class instructional design and test jointly developed by 20 states in the United States. It is a language proficiency assessment for American primary and secondary school students whose native language is not English. Compared with the current general language ability evaluation system, this system not only measures students’ English ability, but also measures students’ English language ability in four subjects: Chinese, mathematics, science, and society. The language ability of other subjects in the school not only helps students learn English well, but also help them learn other subjects well.
